Loved this addition to the series!

Just Once More by Kyra Davis is a short novella in her hugely popular Just One Night series. Toot’s Book Reviews previously reviewed the series and it can be found here (http://tootsbookreviews.blogspot.com/...) When I was asked to review this novella, I was so excited to revisit these wonderful characters and what a treat it was.
Just Once More is told from Robert’s POV. Life for the two lovers has been bliss for the most part but like any couple, they are feeling their way through their new life together and learning as they do. Everything can't always be roses and sunshine and Just Once More takes us into their first major fight since they broke up in Just One Night.
Kasie has landed her first big fish for her new company, Travis Gamble but Travis has a very shady background and is facing some serious PR issues. When she tells Robert of this new opportunity to land Travis as a client, Robert is less then happy. Being the alpha male he is, he tries to control the situation and when that doesn't work, he tries manipulation but Kasie being the alpha female she is, isn’t having any of it. As Robert faces loosing Kasie a second time and realizing that Travis is an even bigger threat then he thought, can the happy couple wade through the rough waters or will the water just dry up?
I loved this little “slice of life” novella and I thought it was a nice tie-in to Kyra’s other stories that are set in the same world. I always love seeing real life struggles that real couple go through. Sometimes a happily ever after isn't all sunshine and roses forever like how most stories end. Real relationships take work as the couple matures and this novella shows us that, all the while telling a nice story that leads up to another big event for the couple.

Just amazing!

So the "Just One Night" series is the first contemporary romance/erotica series that I've ever read. I read began reading the first installment as thru novellas, and from the first page I was hooked, so when I got the opportunity to read "Just Once More", I was absolutely elated. First of all, Mr. Robert Dade is my very first book boyfriend, Before all of the other book boyfriends of the world, for me it was all about Mr. Dade. Kyra does not disappoint with "Just Once More". This book was everything. Well written, from the characters to intimate scenes You feel like you are in the book, a fly on the wall. While it's been a two years since the Just One Night was published, the characters do not falter from their original characteristics and personalities in the first book. If you've read the "Just One Night", all I have to say is PREPARED TO BE FLOORED. All in all, this is an amazing read, sexy and suspenseful..... It's KYRA DAVIS!!!!!

A guilty pleasure if ever there was one. I don't even remember how I fell down the rabbit hole of this series. But I might as well own it. Ladies and gentlemen (especially ladies I suppose) your search for your summer beach reading list is over. I present to you 'Just Once More' the continuation of the equally steamy, stand alone novella 'Just One Night.' For the literary types out there, think Anais Nin. And for you film nerds, Belle De Jour. Oh, and btw, it's FREE. So all the more reason to attend this particular smoke show.

I was hooked on this series with the first four books and had this installment on pre-order for months . . . I devoured the other books in a matter of hours, but this one didn't keep me hooked. I kept putting the book down, doing other things and then forcing myself to pick it back up again. It took me several weeks to get through it because I had to force myself to read it, it felt like homework.

My main issues with the book is the annoying narration and the constant back-tracking. It's a series, we know it's a series--this is book 5 we know the characters already! The narration is awful, the voices are not authentic to teens and instead sound more like adults trying to sound like teenagers. And how many times can Z say things like "that's my friend, he's gay, not that there's anything wrong with that . . ." who talks like that? We get it, everyone loves everyone, no one is intolerant--there are valuable lessons to be learned there, but the delivery falls flat.

The plot dragged on and on and on . . . and in the end, we're left hanging again. I assume the next book will be more of the same boy problems and the same predictable plot . . .I think I'll move on to Kelly Armstrong's novels or Claudia Gray's . . . this will be my last of PC & Kristen's series . . .

I love the house of night book series. Hunted was a great book as was the others in the series. Its written for young adults I believe but I am not a young adult anymore and I liked these books a lot. If you like magic, and vampires you will probably like this book. Its not like most vampire books it's quite a bit different, and has a lot of twists and turns throughout the series.

First Disappointment in a Cast Novel

Wow, never would I have thought I would be disappointed with a P.C. Cast novel but I was with this one. Like many others, I anxiously awaited this book to be released only to be disappointed, shortly after I began the novel.

I think the most difficult portion for me was the way Zoey was written in this book. The strength that I had loved about her in the previous novels was diminished somewhat plus she was slightly selfish and self centered especially when it came to "all" the guys in her life.

The previous book left me glad that she was finally over Heath and hoping that she and Eric would work things out. Those two characters seemed well matched. But, in this novel, not only does Heath enter her life once more but, again, she has imprinted with him. Then there's Stark, a guy, seemingly out of nowhere that we are sure is a villain, but he is thrown in with Zoey so once again, we have a love triangle. Honestly, it was "very" annoying and I can not believe we now have Zoey lusting after three guys once again.

And finally, the usual P.C. Cast humorous writing style was sadly missing in this installment. There were a few places that the humor came through but they were very rare and even those were not the "laugh out loud" sections that I have come to love about Ms. Cast's writing.

I really hope the next installment goes back to its original form. While the technical aspects of the author's writing were still good as usual, her plot, characters, and endearment were not there.

I will buy the next installment but if it does not improve, then that will be the last installment of House of Night that I will ever purchase.

Another excellent book in the "Happy" series. Easy to follow recipes for healthy, nourishing meals suitable not just for children but for the elderly too! Like all Cathy's books the clear writing style makes them a joy to read and I shall certainly be recommending this book to friends and colleagues.

Alisa Solomon teaches at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where she directs the Arts & Culture concentration in the MA program. A detailed examination of the history and impact of an icon

The story of Tevye and Anatevka has taken on a cultural life of its own, as has the music from the "Fiddler on the Roof". The worldwide impact is all the more impressive when we look at the story's origins in a series of Yiddish short stories written by Sholem-Aleichem in the decades that bridge the 19th and 20th centuries. The path from these beginnings to Broadway and Hollywood success was neither straightforward nor easy, and it was not clear that these stories would find wide acceptance. That the story has been so wildly successful is a tribute to the efforts of the many people who worked so hard to interpret and transform the stories, while preserving something essential that seems to speak to widely diverse audiences.

This book is a detailed examination of the history of that transformation, from the original short stories, through various efforts to adapt them to the stage, to the ultimate Broadway and Hollywood triumphs that mark the "Fiddler on the Roof". Along the way, it touches on issues as widely divergent as the immigration and assimilation struggles of Eastern European Jews in the US in the first half of the 20th century, the history of American theater in the middle of the century, and the cultural impact that the musical has had since it opened on Broadway in the mid-1960s.

At times, the level of detail swamps the narrative, but it attests to the depth of the author's research into the history and impact of this work. There are parts of this book that are likely to appeal to a wide range of readers, from those who want to understand the effort it takes to construct a Broadway musical, to those who want to better understand the cultural and political concerns of Jewish immigrants a century ago. Personally, I found the discussion of the impact of the musical to be interesting, especially the role it has taken on in helping Poland address its history in the wake of the Holocaust and the Soviet era.

So the book itself is a mixed bag, and different readers will probably struggle with different parts of it. But there is a lot of information her for a reader willing make the effort.

A brilliant, meticulously researched scholarly book

I first fell in love with FIDDLER ON THE ROOF when I saw it performed on stage. I was twelve years old. My family played the record (LP) so many times, there were grooves within the grooves. In 1971, I again fell in love with FIDDLER when the movie, staring Israeli actor, Chaim Topol,was released. And now I have fallen in love with FIDDLER all over again thanks to Alisa Solomon's scholarly book, WONDER OF WONDERS, A CULTURAL HISTORY OF FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Solomon is a brilliant writer who, through meticulous research (all notated) details a complete history and evolution of a phenomenon that, even today, 50 years after first appearing on Broadway, continues to 'speak' to a global audience, crossing many different cultures and faith backgrounds. Solomon's ability to recognize, impeccably research and cohesively and flawlessly describe precisely how FIDDLER became such a beloved global gem, is, in itself, a phenomenon. Solomon provides an encyclopedic knowledge of her subject, and in so doing, offers an erudite compilation that includes rare pictures and wonderful anecdotes taken from interviews (also meticulously documented) with surviving FIDDLER participants and their children. Wow! ...This Book Is Fantastic!

I dropped in where Shawn teaches on Sundays and I was amazed at how smart he is and how well he can lay out and open up the Scriptures clearly. He caught me at the door as I was leaving and gave me a copy of this book. It is a "God Send".
Just coming out of almost 55 years of Mormonism myself, I feel a bit mixed up and there are plenty of Scriptures that we have been quoted at all of our lives (taken completely out of context) that were haunting me.
This book is laid out clearly to explain everything that I so desperately needed to know. It is like healing balm to my soul. I hope everyone coming out of Mormonism is guided to this book, because the journey isn't easy and we need all the help we can get!
This book is delicious to read and it is filled with a little bit of Shawn's humor throughout which really makes it enjoyable. I am so thankful to be able to read: "Where Mormonism Meets Biblical Christianity Face to Face."
I have learned a lot by reading this and it has brought me some peace and hope and understanding. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in this subject. It is absolutely priceless!

A book which needed to be written.

This book is a must read for those interested in the comparative between what the bible says and Mormon Church Doctrine. Besides the Utah Light House Ministry website, this might be the best resource available on the Christian LDS comparative.

Great Book!! This is a thoroughly written topical comparison of what the LDS believe (and propagate) in contrast to what the Bible teaches. This will be a valuable resource for dialogue with my LDS friends.
