This book is a continuation (Part 4) of Gina Wilkins' "Family Found" series. Dana's Grandmother, Granny Fran, continues to play matchmaker to great success. A delightful read!

Off Wilkins' backlist (1996), newly digitalized. This is evidently part of her Family Found series, but you only get a sense of that in the Epilogue.
Common plot in the Category Romance world, a couple pretending to be engaged, then discovering that they really love each other. But this is a melancholy story, because the reason is sad and the author doesn't stint on the day-to-day emotional reality of it. However, the heroine's personality tends to serious anyway, which drags it down further. The hero is supposed to appear as lighthearted (covering pained depths, of course), but that humor presents with all the subtlety of an elementary school yard* so I found it hard to smile.
* Flushing the toilet while someone is in the shower - Really? (This was actually the heroine, trying to revive his joie de vivre, but you get the idea).
I commend Wilkins for the history she gives the hero, without caving to the usual Category premise that he is covering for someone else. Although it's questionable how healthy the situation really is, when denial on his side seems high. He still thinks nobody knows? I know this is a little cryptic, but since the reader doesn't find out details until the end, I cannot fairly say more.
This was not a favorite of mine, but that is more about personal preference; I enjoy Wilkins' medical books greatly. If you are in the mood for a more somber romance, this should suit.

This was a really fun and sweet book

This was a really fun and sweet book. In fact, I really liked this series. Gina is one of my favorite writers of romance HEA books.
